This Barbara still has good fruits on nose and palate, slight tannins and good acidity but not that reflux type! Coming from Serralunga it is so balanced after 7 years!! Probably the best Barbara I have ever had!!!

The 2017 Barbera d'Alba Cerretta is rich, unctuous and super-expressive, its recent bottling notwithstanding. Ripe red cherry, plum, blood orange, hard candy and spice develop in the glass, but what surprises me most about the 2017 is how polished and refined it has become during the course of its aging. Of course, the 2017 needs time to be at its best, but it is certainly off to a great start. The natural richness and intensity of the year are so well-balanced here, while the wine's breadth will emerge even more fully with time. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2020)

Solid but a little more modern than the ‘11s and ‘13s I’ve tried recently.

Conterno's 2015 Barbera d'Alba Cerretta is much more expressive today than the Francia. A broad, ample wine, the 2015 is beautifully resonant on the palate, with all of the expansiveness that is so typical of this site. Next to the Francia, the Cerretta is a bit more overt and forthcoming, two qualities that are exactly what makes Barbera so compelling in the first place. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2018)

Newish vineyard site for Conterno. A little more accessible in its youth than the acclaimed Cascina Francia. Come get it at Prato.

When I want the complexity of Barolo/Barbaresco and the approachability of Barbera this is where I constantly find myself turning. Textbook precision
