This is a young Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Paso Robles.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with red and black fruits, light oak, spices, chocolates, coffee, licorice, earth, eucalyptus, herbs, light vegetables, tobacco leaf and peppercorn.

Nice tangy finish with fine grained tannins.

Showing nice complexity already. Spicy and interesting.

Needs an hour to open up properly, but good right out of the bottle too. Will be nice to revisit it in 5 years.

Good by itself or with food, and paired very nicely with the Brie cheese.

13.4% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

Ghost Cellars Reserve 2017, Paso Robles, California

It's time for my
#FridayCabernetfix. Here is a nice one from Paso Robles.

Pretty color of dark ruby with a wide reddish rim.

Fruity nose with blueberries, black currants, black plums, cooked cherries, oak, licorice, vanilla, earth, light herbs, coffee, tobacco, spices and peppercorn.

Full-bodied and smooth with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cherries, wood, spices, peppercorn, dark chocolates, light diet cola and earth.

Medium length on the finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Paso Robles. Showing nice complexity with a soft mouthfeel.

Still young and would benefit from a a few more years in the bottle, but already drinking nicely, even by itself.

Nice to see a low ABV here, and showing true typicity to the region, both on the nose and palate.

Good by itself or with food. Tangy and interesting. I always enjoy these new world Bordeaux blends.

Needed some time to open up. I gave it 90 minutes, and that's when the tannins and more structure came in.

I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

A blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon 6% Cabernet Franc and 2% Merlot. Aged in French Oak barrels.

13.4% alcohol by volume.

91 points.
