I expect this is a better wine than my rating indicates, but it’s not for me. Agree with other commenters that aeration and time to open up greatly improved it. Pomegranate, tart red fruit on nose... a little cedar and wood. Thin texture. Just too sour and dry for me in the mouth. More pomegranate and cranberry. Sanguine. Earthy (peat, not soil). Smoke, in an acrid way. Seriously biting. Mid and back of tongue... tip of tongue tastes practically nothing. It would certainly stand up to salt. Agree with commenters who mentioned gamey meats.
