Clear opaque Ruby color and full bodied with high acidity. High intensity nose with bags of cassis, anise, warm spice and a hint of barnyard. Faded cassis and dark berry notes on the palate with pronounced barnyard funk and lots of black pepper spice. Longish finish with medium tannins. Not sure if this is a bad bottle, or if the wine is best it's prime.

The rustic nose feels a bit over extracted with overripe plum, blackberry jam, caramel, anise, and hint of lavender. On the palate it’s rich, full, and beautifully textured, with fresh herbs and just enough acidity for balance. Velvety tannins leading to a port-like sweet finish that lasts for a minute.

This 100% Grenache from the small village of Tautavel in Roussillon is fantastic and full of character.
