This is the 2008. Note that it's from the McLaren Vale, just like it says on the label--not Fleurie. This is a really nice take on Tempranillo. Spice, plum, red fruits, white pepper, cocoa, a bit of salted caramel, and something earthy and floral. Palate is rich and mouth coating with lots of balance. Long, flavorful finish adds a nice earthiness. Excellent wine.

Aug 6th, 2015New world Tempranillo with texture, fruit, and spice as the stand out characteristics. Nose is just a bit muted with black fruit, white pepper, and wet black earth. Palate shows more red fruit notes along with baking spices and some plum. Medium everything except texture which is rich and mouthfilling. There's a slight mustard seed note on the medium + finish that is both very pleasant and very food-friendly. Amazing QPR on this wine. This is the 2008.

Feb 23rd, 2015I'm really startled by the QPR on this wine. Nose has floral, plum, blackberry, baking spices, and white pepper. Palate is rich and stands out with a beautiful merlot-like soft texture. Everything is medium and this wine is easy to drink. This is a very new world take on Tempranillo which went beautifully with tomato sauce, garlic, and a rustic turmeric flavoring. Startlingly good considering the price.
