Bought from producer at tasting event. Medium extracted purple red. Berry jam, barrel wood, briar, menthol, vanilla, blackberry notes in nose, maybe some green pea as well. Burnt matchstick (blows off quickly), tart cherry and leesy notes in mouth, bitter finish. Moderate astringency across tongue with a bitter, slightly medicinal aftertaste. Drinkable, cleanly made. Could use a softer touch on the tannins. Aging or decanting should improve it; much better fruit and drinkable after 24 hours open.
