Côte-Rôtie Syrah

Rustic stunner!

Awesome stuff.

Strong tannic backbone. Tart red fruits, beef blood. Very good now.

2003 vintage.

This was sadly mildly corked. Too bad because underneath the tca was an impressive Syrah.

Open. About an hour. Bret barnyard but not offensive ink and tar. Wet stone. Still good bright color. Fruit fades in mouth with some smoked meaty flavors

Still very closed on opening. Opened up over the course of dinner, developing a complex, beguiling nose and a deep, sensuous body.

Overwhelmingly good. Aromas are extraordinary.

Meaty and olivey. Seemed like a high viognier component. Very enjoyable. Closed up after 3ish hrs.
