Dec 30th, 20192016 is not a bad vintage, but I don't think it's for me. Maybe it'll taste better the second day? I've not tasted the earlier vintages but they would appear to be tasted higher.
I've tasted better wines, for lower cost.
I might buy this if it was on offer again from waitrose and a different year buy not convinced this vintage is worth the price.

Let's hope the sale price had nothing to do with 2014 being one of the most disappointing vintages in the South since 2008! Bottle built to survive a nuclear detonation. Syrah and Mourvedre led meaty and black pepper nose. And there it is. No fruit intensity in the palate. Highish acid, almost citrus redcurrants in there with the dilute black fruit. Tannins subtle and only really give the structure needed at the finish. With a bit of air this comes together, blackberries and reduced sourness, tannins open up.
