Excellent Napa zin but I definitely get the petite sirah. Nose of plums, figs, jam, cedar. Palate is big with a wave of jammy flavor that peaks with some alcohol and then dissipates over a minute or two with freeze dried strawberries, underripe plum, some wood, and dust. It’s big but that finish really brings it back away from mass produced huge CA zin. Will probably benefit from more time in bottle.

Apr 1st, 2022What a difference 4 months make (or bottle variation)! This bottle is much more integrated with baking spice, figs, strawberry jam, but a wonderful earthy and almost tobacco like component. Really well balanced.

Was expecting more - does this want to be a cab or a Zin!? Has the tannin and power of a cab but lacks the fruit of a true Zin. Maybe it needed more time in the cellar!?
