Apr 27th, 2020Deep ruby red. Started off a bit soft with some dark berries and cinnamon on the nose. With an hour or so in the glass it gained complexity with darker notes, blackberries, sweet spices and a bit almost like coconut. Heavy tannins (7/10) and medium plus to full bodied. Rich palate with layers of blackberries, cassis, vanilla, more sweet spices, cigar box, a touch of bramble berries and rich gravel. Long and lingering finish. Perfect wine for our 8th Anniversary. Drink till 2023.

Oct 30th, 2017Awesome cab. Explosion of red fruit on the palate, turning dark on the finish with tar and spices. Floral nose, powerful mouthfeel with a nice touch of tannin.. I'm going to have to look more into these guys.

Sep 19th, 2017First time trying Frias and I thoroughly enjoyed this Spring Mountain cab. Mountain fruit is my favorite just due to the sheer power and simultaneous elegance it can exude. This is a baby obviously, but it is full of blue and black fruit on the nose and has great texture. Rush of blueberry pie, toasted vanilla and earthy components on the finish.

Apr 26th, 2017Dark ruby red with purplish hues. Lots of baking spices on the nose especially cinnamon sticks and vanilla. A little perfumey, black tea, and dark raspberries too. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and full bodied. Great structure with notes of black cherries, mint and eucalyptus. Slightly stoney and dry long finish. Drink till 2026.
Aged for 22 months in 40% new French oak.

But I am admittedly biased plus all wines are better in a big bottle!
