Deep, rich, and thick like a dense Bordeaux, this Zinfandel is like liquid bread. It has plum and blueberry flavors up front leading into a lingering, slightly tart, acidic finish.

A big red, this Zin is made in a style without excessive sugar, but smooth and balanced at 14.3% alcohol. Full of jammy red currants and crisp acidity, this is a fantastic food wine which paired well with vegetable lasagne, Greek salad, and baked jalapeño poppers.

Haven’t had any of my Alma Maters wine in a while, was in Fresno last month and had to pick up a few bottles! Cherry, vanilla, pepper, prune. 2018 vintage so a bit past its prime, but not too bad.
