Get take out because you’re working retail during the holidays, but do it right with Belotti & Barolo. Fragrant with rose petals, red & black currant, cloves and new leather. Dense with polished tannins that hit every nook & cranny of your mouth. From a producer I don’t know much about. Overall, this was darker Barolo overall than I expected both in terms of fruit profile and color. Is this a Cannubi thing? A barrique thing?

Not simple but simpler than other vintages, plenty of authentic characters, the structure is not as profound and the top is not as airy as the best. The aromatic range is also not as wide as the better vintage like 2006 and 2010. Much more density and intensity than the normal cannubi, but not necessarily as harmonious yet. Still excellent and very tasty.
