Lange's Frankland Wines Shiraz is made by James Kellie of Harewood Estate (Denmark, WA) and is an exclusive limited release each vintage. I was lucky enough to receive a bottle of the latest release - the 2012 - which we enjoyed with a braised beef ragu over pasta with gremolata - oh what a combo! It retails for $35 a bottle and can be purchased online.

It's a vibrant velvet red on the eye with a warm nose full of cocoa, black cherries and mulberries. In the mouth it's like eating strawberries doused with black pepper (I was introduced to this delicacy in Spain - pretty darn good). It's plummy and juicy with a super smooth and soft mouthfeel. 'Keen acidity and nice tannin structure with a smooth finish' - according to Mr. Spittoon.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #gifted #tcweekdaywine
