Meaty nose and first bite. Quickly falls off. All the flavor leaves immediately but the loose, gritty tannins stay around for a bit. Missing the yumminess.

It's quite the impressive wine. Deep, gorgeous staining purple color. Dried meat, cedar plank, floral aromatics of roses and red fruits on the nose. It flourishes the palate with ripe plums, raspberries, strawberries, licorice, bountiful acidity and tannins that cling to the gums. I'll be looking into this one soon again.

Fine for an every day wine. Nothing special.

There's a reason the French didn't used to make Syrah at this level.
