Interesting Loire Valley Pinot Noir. Bright garnet color with a dark murky core. Aromas of dark fruit, forest floor and a bit of funk. Flavors of blueberries , red and black cherries/raspberries and minerals. Medium (and very earthy/funky) finish. Bright (high level of) acidity, light body and silky tannins. Lacking a bit of complexity and overall depth. Lots of tension. Very much a Pinot Noir, but this wine also had a bit of a light bodied Cabernet Franc vibe. Certainly a unique expression of the varietal. Opened at Jordyn’s cancer benefit.
