This smells and tastes like northern Rhône Syrah. Slightly opaque. Just ripened black and red fruit. More meat, smoke, and violet than olives. Good complexity. Moderate acid and chunky tannins. The lack of energy brings a dip to the finish but this is a very good crozes. Showing well now.

A nice entry level wine from Franck Balthazar. Quite accessible even with only a couple years of age. Well balanced, dark fruited, integrated tannins, tasty.
