Franciscan
Napa County Cabernet Sauvignon
This was my go-to Napa Valley Cab, but starting from the 16’ vintage, which carries the Napa County appellation destination, it’s Napa Valley no more.
This 16’ bottling is better than I expected, and pretty much retains the quality from the previous vintages. The delicious dark fruits, while not as concentrated, is lively and well balanced. Supple palate with moderate complexity. Dusty tannins. Very nice.
Will get more if the 16’ is still available.

Very nice with a cheeseburger. Rich, round, some complexity, enjoyable.

May 29th, 2019A nice middle of the road cabernet with all the vanilla/caramel flavors of heavily toasted oak barrels. At a much cheaper price point than typical napa cabs.
