This one went down with Chicken Provençal not a great mix and a superb home made pizza.

Merlot (Cabernet, Malbec, petite Verdot, Cabernet franc are other Bordeaux varietals) Franciscan, Napa Merlot 2008 Oak, pepper, brown sugar, vegetal tobacco edge. Blackberry fruit. Saddle leather. Taste: tobacco, coffee nuances, green tobacco, bell pepper, spice. Too bitter, I don't like it. No huge personality.

Smooth tannins, Bordeaux style wine, very pleasant, smooth on palate, perfect for cheeses, pasta, meat. Oaky, berry. Full bodies, fruity. Restrained strength. Smooth but not overwhelming.
