Fifteen years in, this Zin is fading fast but still shows its pedigree.

A relatively dry Zinfandel from Dry Creek Valley grapes, this wine has a bit of tartness, yet the mouthfeel is still soft. Blackberry flavors dominate.

Aroma of plums. Dry initial taste of dark fruits and plums with a hint of black pepper. "Pucker" dry finish that actually works.

Bright ruby, beefy Gamay nose gives way to red fruit and plums, tuttifrutti palate, medium tannin, medium acid. Well balanced and drinkable, but not exciting.

Vibrant and bold with character! Strawberries, raspberries, oak, clove, vanilla and anise. Elegant on the palate with a slight tingle followed by a long beautiful finish.

Ripe nose of maple syrup and dark, spicy ripe blackberry. Dark, clingy flavors of slightly bitter-tinged blackberry and a dark roasted herby/iodine thing. A bit of heat in the finish, but overall pretty good.

The 12 is drinking solid, a nice effort.
