Another barrel aged Zinfandel from Lodi California. Showing black fruits, with cooked cherries, vanilla, black licorice, spices, alcohol, caramel, mocha and coke.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry to off dry on the palate with medium finish and soft tannins.
Very high in alcohol so watch out.
A nice party wine, although a tad unbalanced.

BOOZE BOMB. This bourbon barrel aged Zinfandel is an exceptional Lodi zin that has been thrown in to the barrels of bourbon from the great state of Kentucky. It comes in at 16.8%...no that isn’t a typo, 16.8. It is pretty well rounded considering the high abv and aging in whiskey barrels. Not much bourbon compared to other cabs/zins that have been bourbon aged. If you are all about the fad of bourbon barrel aged wines, this is a good one.

Catchy looking label. Bottle looks like whisky bottle. Some tar meets jams and molasses on the nose. A bit of the Cali fruit 🍎 bomb 💣 style. Very oaky/bourbon barrel flavored. Not my thing. Leave wine and bourbon in separate flavor lanes.

2016- super smoky nose. Thick caramel and vanilla, with dark fruit, nice acidity, and some oak barrel

Seems to be a very young, sweet wine. Based on the color, nose and taste this is young. Dark garnet color, nose of dark cherries, tastes like a port I believe i May buy a few to Cellar for several years to see if this mellows.

Raisin, vanilla, nose with light fruit in the middle. Some smokiness. Nice on the tongue. Not as thick and complex as a cab, but really really good. Blueberry, cherry notes. It’s thickness is between a cab and merlot. Like this one.
