100% Petit Verdot from the King Andrews Vineyard in Suisun Valley. 2007 vintage. Rustic and earthy initially, but quickly emerges with a potent mix of dried black cherry, blackberry preserves, purple flowers, mocha, and hazelnut. The noticeably plush mouthfeel allows the flavors to set while keeping the finish pushing.

Full bodied, brilliant fruit, rich color, long in the palate from front to back.

Same complexity as many Bordeaux blends but just made up of one often ignored varietal. Dark but lush.

Very interesting wine. Straight petite verdot, very limited production...awesome suggestion by the guy at Coppa. No idea of cost or how to get it but would like to buy again

Who knew petit Verdot could be so complex and delicious on its own! I love pv, but we blend it. A rich napa style red, thick and chewy, quite ripe, but still fresh, worked with lamb chops. Ripeness is very different than Matthews newer work, but still yummy and balanced.

Clean smooth, long finish. Rotisserie chicken upfront in nose in a good way.
