Black cherry, smoke, smoke, smoke (did I mention smoke?) and bark/stem notes. If you told me this wine was created with Forge harvesting by cutting the vines off at the ground and putting the whole mess into a tank,I would totally buy that story. This is the second time on this bottle in 8 months, pretty consistent with the last experience. It's really growing on me, unique profile.

As with the other Forge Rieslings I've tried, the 2014 Sunrise Hill Vineyard is lithe and electric. it possesses tactile, nervy tension. The nose is somewhat reserved, though swirling reveals white flowers, lime zest, mint and a pinch of granulated honey. It feels very pure—at the core, it's bracing, slightly monotone and accented by lemon pith, and Asian pear that slowly, ever so slowly, dwindles to a slightly chalky finish. Nice with fried oysters. 12.5% ABV | Sample

Hand harvested, native yeast ferment, and unfiltered. Bit of funk on the nose initially that steps back to let the fruit perform. Good spokesperson for a Pinot from the FLX.

Burgundian. Other vintages didn’t taste as good.

This is money people. I dare you to taste side by side with Willamette. Barnyard prominent nose with red fruit background and very tarragon, red blossom floral component. On the palette firm tannins a little tight actually finish will improve with 2-3 in the cellar not much more. Great with barBq plate. Acid, tannin balance is solid but again in 2-3 look out. Great effort here.

If you think a light coloured rose can't deliver on the palate then you need to try this one.
