1961, Riserva. Hasn't moved since vintage (incredibly). Sees the sunlight then comes to Sydney and stops the whole team in our tracks. Brilliant sour cherry. Consistent, persistent tannin. Still so bright and vibrant. With that acid line it could go another 10, or more! 97pts

One of the best wine experiences I've had. 54 years old yet fresh and lively. Great acidity, red fruits still lingering around. Tannins have softened out but the length of tannin and flavor takes it to a new level. Love it! Rustic, earthy savoury edge that I love in Barolo. Classy! Only 20 bottles in Australia - time to have some fun. Wow 98 points.

There’s some tart fruit left here but it comes across like a Luden’s cherry cough drop. It’s an ok example but not particularly impressive. Drink up

Heavenly. Perfectly subtle. The tannins and acid have relaxed leaving a nuanced and complex earth driven wine with just enough remaining fruit for balance.

Wow, a very pleasant surprise, full of life at age 56! Preserved cherries on the nose just after opening (beautiful cork), transitioning to stewed prunes, and then opening to lovely pot pourri. Acidity also emerging (how does that happen??) after 1.5 hours. What a special treat. Thanks Alex!

1961 vintage. Not sure how it ended up in my possession but I've had for more than 20 years. Uncorked it with good friends over a special white truffle dinner and it was nothing short of amazing...after sitting for a bit. The color bordered on rust, especially around the edges. The the aroma was leather & earth. The taste was tobacco-soaked fruit. Still dreaming about it.
