2012. Hints of lavender on the nose and a bit of smoke. Blackberry, anise and spice with a velvet finish. Firm but not intrusive tannins. Awesome small vineyard from the Santa Maria Valley. Can’t wait to see what comes out of there in years to come.

Atypical for CC merlot (ie. usually underripe, green pepper, etc.) -- actually tastes like a reasonably serious Merlot, but nice acid to boot. Good balance; surprised it was 14.8
