Jul 30th, 2014It was big but not as complex as earlier vintages. It has some more growth to come but tasting good early on.

Nov 25th, 2017This 2012 Cab is deep, dark blood red with brick to light purple rim. A restrained nose reminiscent of Chateau Margaux with undertones of ripe 'California style' cassis, a very subtle “Rutherford dust,” saddle leather and just the slightest hint of smoke. On the palate the texture is medium bodied and velvety with ripe black cherry evolving to bright, mouth watering, cassis fruit. Tannins in this wine are quite evolved for a wine of this age. A beefy iodine finish creates a craving for a dry aged, bone in, ribeye steak. This wines tannins are balanced by the bright acidity in the finish that screams for the complex subtlety of such a steak. The oak of this wine is understated, coming in and out & never taking over, nicely balanced.
