Finca La Pica 1982 Rioja.
The wine itself looks old. I like that.
The wine itself smells old, with raisins and balsamic notes. I love that.
The wine is the single best pairing I've ever had with a charred filet mignon. On its own it shows its age, the palate a little watery but still otherwise holds up for a 33 year old bottle. With the steak however it becomes this masterpiece that needed only the right lighting to become something amazing. I am in awe of how much more fuller bodied the wine becomes. Amazing. Worth the wait.

Stewed raspberries and red cherries and strawberry preserves. Leather and dill. Library musky age notes. Absolutely terrific! Rioja of typicity and stellar character. A light vanilla finish thats long and has acidic finesse. Love this a lot.

Really heavy and full-bodied. Can't believe it survived this long!! Really one of the best from this region. Made for a great 4th of July!! Where were you in 1982?

1982 finca la pica probable Was a Great Wine 20 years ago! Maybe the way was store, but need to be pair with a good steak!! It sure came back.
I wish I had had it in my little cellar ages well.
