I ended up with this bottle of wine after a very good Italian eatery down here in Miami botched an order. It was a trade for the inconvenience - their choice. What a surprise. Light and fruity on the nose with limestone and blackberry. Drinks like velvet. Cherry finish without any bite. What a pleasant win for me. No surprise given I am a very big fan of Sardinian wine

This ticks all the right boxes for being excellent Cannonau di Sardegna. Deep ruby color, plums, dark berries, herbs and smoke on the nose. On palate this avoids the pithole many Cannonaus fall where the purity of fruit barely hides the lack of depth. This has it without displaying the many times too abundant tannins present in Cannonau Riservas. Plenty of ripe cherry, herbs, dark/blue berries, fine tannins giving structure and wonderful smooth finish. Excellent wine that compliments grilled food and summer, what else you'd need.
