When I really got introduced to wine is when I visited family in Austria, and they took us to a traditional buschenschank in Rüst near the border. And a super fun experience we got to eat and drink and wander through several sellers just enjoying things I didn’t even know existed. I saved this bottle and it’s traveled with me for over 20 years at this point and I resolved to open it when the time was right. Well, I finally got some girl tricked into marrying me and I realized it was that time. Frankly, there was nothing special about the day been a long week for the both of us and we are looking forward to going to the symphony with friends, but opening this wine was just a reminder of all the good things in life. I still can’t believe it’s only 9.5% alcohol. Just wonderful apricot and muted smells and taste along with just a smooth slightly butterscotch nature to it. By the time it was open, there were a bunch of the tartaric acid crystals group in the bottom. Still thick and bright and lovely and frankly for the alcohol it has you can’t believe the structure on there. Neither comes across as clean or therapy and it’s just a wonderful wine.
