Light ruby red with lilac undertones and a thin rim. A very typical Brunello nose featuring ripe red cherries and dried flowers. Raspberries and a little leather show up. A nice amount of warm spice here, as well. Not amongst the more expensive of Brunello bottles that you’ll find but this is definitely one of the most approachable ones I’ve tasted.
Full bodied but still sleek. This is really a wine in total harmony with itself. Never showy or high falutin, this knows what it is and what it’s here to do. There is a nice bit of complexity here with sturdy tannins. Cherries on the tongue, along with dry earth and licorice. A bit of oak on the deliciously long finish. This is drinking great now but still has a few more years left.
