The Perrin family makes a lot of wine and most of its is great to very good. This is a solid wine for the price. Problem for me is, most of their wines lack a certain depth of character. Meaning, rarely do they have that next level, outside of the highest end wines they make. Maybe I'm over critical.

Took a while to open but after a couple hours in the decanter - starting to show some nice elegant Grenache notes with pepper and mint on the palate.

Oh, hey. Hey there, Gigondas has my heart. Oodles of red fruit and earth funk. Gonna let it sit in my glass a wee bit and more notes. In the meantime--cooked strawberries and pepper, maybe some cloves or allspice? Medium body, medium acidity, medium-high tannins. Maybe a mushroom or wet leaves at the end. not that I have consumed wet leaves, but the smell...in other news my list of things to smell and taste is ever growing. Work. To do.

My rating holds firm for this lovely Gigondas. A well crafted blend of 80% Grenache 20% Syrah, deep purple color , aromas full of geranium, sweet spices, black fruits and a touch of black cherries, full body, with excellent acidity, very spicy yet round and generous round yet a touch rough tannins, long delicious finish, wine has evolved brut idylls over the last decade and is at its peak with another 2-5 years drinking window, my score 89, drink to 2019

2005, I am s big fan of Gigondas, a Rhone AOC, Syrah at its best, classic old world style Syrah. The wind has a ruby red color , classical nose of wet forest floor, mushrooms, black current, coffee and a little touch of tar, full body with mild round tannins and a great acidity, long and yummy chewy finish, my score 88, drink 2009-2018.
