Happy Pinot Noir Day!

Here is my delicious contribution to the Celebration.

This four-year-old Pinot Noir from Sonoma County is drinking very nicely now.

Medium bodied with medium-plus acidity.

Showing red fruits with light wood, light vegetables, tobacco, dark coffee, light barnyard and black pepper.

Nicely balanced with lots of fruits. Good right out of the bottle, nice and engaging and easy drinking.

Nice and interesting with nice complexity and mouthfeel. A great new world Pinot Noir.

I've had this vintage a year ago, and it is getting better, as I expected. Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 years.

This Single Vineyard Pinot is tasty.
I gave it a light chill, and paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses. Great for this hot weather.

Aged in neutral French oak barrels for 18 months. A small production of only 110 cases.

14.1% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$38.

This is a very nice Pinot Noir from Los Carneros in Sonoma County.

Showing red fruits with light oak, barnyard, licorice, spices, dark coffee, vegetables and bell pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and a nice finish.

A blend between New World and Old world. I had the 2014 a while ago, and this one tastes differently. Very much like a Pinot Noir and the 2014 had more of a Cabernet Sauvignon feel.

Stinky nose and earthy plate. A good quality wine.

14.1% alcohol by volume.

89 points.

Light ruby in color with medium intensity and a wide reddish rim.

Fruity nose with bing cherries, strawberries, barnyard, oak, light vanilla, licorice, green vegetables, cola, light alcohol, pencil lead, wet leaves, dirt, spices and black pepper.

Light in body with high acidity, soft and elegant with nice legs.

Dry on the palate with strawberries, raspberries, bitter herbs, spices, green vegetables, dark chocolates, black pepper, graphite, earth and wood.

Medium plus in finish with no tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is a very elegant Pinot Noir from Sonoma County, California. Not fully balanced, but shows nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel.

This Single Vineyard red is showing lots of earthy notes with light red fruits. Burgundinian style.

Not good right out of the bottle, and needs an hour in a decanter to open up properly. Might need more bottle time.

Not a sipping wine, but rather a good food wine right now. Tangy and interesting, but a little bitter for my taste.

Classic California style Pinot. Nose is great with bright fruit. Palate has tastes of cherry with nice support of french oak. Acidity is nice with support from mild tannins. Pleasant finish.
