89 because Falesco's Tellus Merlot 2013 is a great value, velvety and sumptuous, it retails for less than $15 in the US. From vineyards in Montecchio, in the heart of Umbria, the Merlot sourced for Tellus is grown in clay and calcareous soils. It's an open-hearted wine, and softly focused with lush layers of black cherries and plums, leather, and earth. On the finish, dried sage emerges, it achieves nice complexity, given its price. 13.0% ABV | Sample

Definitely An Italian nose. Medium body. Tangy acidity on the sides of the tongue

2014- Dark cherry and earthy on the nose. Palette offers typical Merlot characteristics. Soft tannins, full bodied, offers complexity fair to it’s price and age.

Darker fruits and some baking spices on the nose, slight effervescence when it first hits the tongue, light on the palate with some drying tannins, dark fruits linger. Discovered at Get to Know Merlot class, brought a bottle home to go with bolognese!

Couldn't get the title correct. I drank a falesco tellus merlot from Umbria. Very good with a filet nice and rich. A surprise for me. The wine was not a syrah
