The second wine of my mini-vertical was the dark reddish-violet '93 Etude Cabernet Sauvignon. It showed a tad more verve than the '92 with ripe dark cherry, cola and dusty soil aromas. Chocolate-laced flavors of blackberry, lead pencil and tobacco followed. Soft fleshy mouth-filling tannins preceded the long precise finish. A lovely duet of Napa cabs.
