On the palate the wine showed ethereal notes, red and dark fruit, strawberry, blackberry, plum, chocolate, coffee, spices, clove, vanilla and cinnamon, paired with medium-plus well-integrated acidity, medium-plus fine, ripe tannin, a good mouthfeel and very good length. The medium- to full-bodied wine was well-balanced except for some heat from the alcohol, with good concentration and complexity. The oak was still prominent, but not overbearing.
