One of my favorite winemakers, Eric built this organic and biodynamic vineyard by hand. The wine is exotic and the aromas bound from the glass. Chamomile, honeycomb, quince, and bruised pear are a few of the aromas I get in the initial attack. Not one for much new oak, Morgat’s wine truly show a sense of place.

Fresh, herbal, mineral-driven Anjou Chenin Blanc from a 1 ha parcel just over the river from Savennieres. Vine roots were planted into the fissures of a volcanic rock, no top soil. A very lean, racy and exotic character to this wine that is pure expression of the soil. Pithy, lime-accented with a sense of delicacy and searing acidity on the finish. Extremely low ph even by Loire standards, this is a killer food wine with a shimmering brightness and distinct personality.

Was worried as last CellarTracker note mentioned premox, but this bottle is fresh with secondary inflections just beginning. Delicious bottle.

Chenin that is trying to taste like Meursault. A little too much wood for my palate...
