Seventh wine at Oakton this afternoon and fourth red. Purplish ruby red darker than the Black Label or Classic. Lovely nose, with floral and savory notes. Some iron and gaminess too. Moderate tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Great acidity to balance. Very tight with the aromatics, only cherries. Definitely needs a few years to open up and fully develop into a monster of a wine we know this is. Long and powerful finish. Drink till 2036.
