Totally shocked by the youthful vibrancy still evident in the opaque cherry red '96 Elderton Shiraz 'Estate'. Lovely aromas of ripe plum, clove and dried red fruits lead to a mouthful of sweet oak, eucalyptus and sage flavors. Well resolved tannins primed the tongue to the satisfying medium-plus finish. A most pleasant surprise!
