Normally love the ESJ style but this was a bit hotter and riper than ideal; a bit heavy on the blueberry and mocha. Consistent with the last time I tried this a few years back. There’s an elegant wine hiding in there for sure but don’t know if it emerges with more time

Nose has a little barnyard, campfire, dried leaves, blackberry. Palate, unsurprisingly for ESJ, is far more about minerality and earthiness than fruit. Alcohol higher than I'm used to from Steve. Always a treat to try these back vintages
