On initial opening, I would’ve sworn this had some merlot in it, as there was a clear mocha note present. However, with air, that dissipated and the 60% cab sauv /40% cab franc came across as nicely integrated and showing more typical of both those grapes, with plum and floral notes coming through clearly. Give it an hour in the decanter or cellar for another year or two.
