Dusted Valley Vintners
BFM Stone Tree Vineyard Merlot Blend
Black cherry, coco, and coffee notes on the nose are seductive and indicative of the relative youth of this vintage. On the sip, all those flavors come through, especially the black cherry. In addition some black plum, tobacco and vanilla come through. Yum!

Aug 10th, 2018Tasted this against 3 other American Bordeaux blends, all 3-4 years older and the 2010 BFM was by far the most drinkable. Beautifully round fruit and supple tannins make this wine remarkable for its craft. BFM = blow your fucking mind!

1 person found it helpfulMar 22nd, 2014There are precious few Merlot dominant BDX blends from WA that are this damn good! We could just call this a varietal Merlot (it is 75% Merlot in the 2012 vintage), but we don't. There is just enough of the other BDX grapes (especially the 4% Petit Verdot) to throw their weight around and give the color, aroma and finish huge chops. Big blackberry and leather on initial palette, chased by hints of coco, baking spices and cherry. Stoney and reserved on the nose still. I said it the other day, this is much too young to drink; it can go for several years still.

Nov 3rd, 2016Big grippy tannins, blackberry, ripe cherry, hints of pepper, tobacco, and baking spices. This is MUCH to young to drink now, in my opinion. Give it a few years, or 10. :)
