Another Special Club offering, another terrific champagne. A slightly deep gold with few bubbles. The nose is delicate with orange rind and lemon zest. White floral accents to go with the subtle touch of cinnamon. The cherry and raspberry notes take over after some air.
60/40 Pinot Noir/Chardonnay from Reims. This is an incredibly clean and focused champagne. Very youthful but showing power and gracefulness. More than enough depth to keep you interested but this is all about easygoing drinking. Zippy acidity throughout. Toasted biscuits and red apples on the palate with a faint whisper of spice on the long finish. This is easily one of the best values Champagne has to offer.
