Duchman Family Winery
Texas Montepulciano
Getting good fruit extract out of this wine now. In a good place. But in general, kind of underwhelmed.

Jul 8th, 2014Had it first at @grapetownvineyard near #fredericksburg and bought the bottle. Had our perfect occasion to open it up and it didn’t disappoint. Medium to full body, not sweet but certainly not on the drier side either—just perfectly balanced with flavor palate of cherry, oak, plum, and blackberry notes. Went well with brick oven pizza after a long day of moving into my honey’s new home. Definitely going to Driftwood, Texas to visit the actual vineyard soon. Great for gifting, special occasions, and romantic evenings.

Aug 18th, 2024Wow super strong and a bit harsh for a montepulciano. We had to let it breathe overnight. Would not purchase again.

Nov 8th, 2020Rich and layered flavors of dark fruits. Hint of spice makes this really impressive.

Nov 10th, 2016Nice plum notes and dark fruit. Not the best acidity but balanced tannins. Holds its own. And yes, you read it correctly, that's a Montepulciano from the Texas high plains. What a world we live in.
