Citrus, mineral, touch of spice. Youthful and still simple, but such a good aperitif with that sweetness and cleaning acidity. This wine's gonna last forever!
Note: Fruit harvested at a modest 82° Oechsle. Good to be drinking the 15' of this wine. The 12' Loosen Bernkasteler Lay and Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett were the two wines that started this entire journey for me. The Bernkasteler always seem to have an edge for me, being more textural than the Wehlener. Then again, I haven't had these wines with more age - I hear that's when the Wehlener becomes its best.
