Dr. Deinhard
Deidesheim Spätburgunder
Once in a while you just have to venture off the beaten path and try something different. As a Pinot Noir lover, I have enjoyed Pinots from France, California, Oregon of course, Australia and Canada among others but never Germany. Don’t the Germans make outstanding Rieslings and world class beer, yes they do but now I can add Pinot Noir. From the Pfalz wine region in Western Germany this approachable and smooth drinking Pinot is a pleasant surprise. Garnet in color and presenting a pronounced vegetal, lightly perfumed aromatics it offers a well balanced tastes of wild mushrooms, earth, leather and dark chocolate. With a medium layered mouth feel, light tannins and long legs this German surprise has been added to my collection. 13.0% alc/vol $25.00 CAD Cheers 🇧🇪🍷
