Last week was a combo of 4th Friday and Open That Bottle Night on back to back nights. Needless to say, the lineup between both days was full of heavy hitters, so I’m only posting standout bottles.

Fresh and balanced. Though it’s not getting better, I think this is in a nice window. Lots of bay leaf, dried fig and cranberries and potpourri aromatics. There was also an herbal (slightly iron driven?) note here too. Great acidity on the palate with more red fruit and a hint of underripe black cherries, with clay and herbs.

I drank this wine on 4/8/17 from magnum. Wow! A real stunner. Beautifully balanced. Rich, velvet-like feel. The bottle was open for four hours before drinking. Lucious wine drinking beautifully now.

1999-fantastic burgundy wine! Rich, luscious, thick structure, raspberries, red fruit, delicious, and beautiful. A reason to drink wine. A Louis the XIV of a wine. Opulent fruit on a huge structure.
