Dominio del Plata (Susana Balbo)
Barrel Fermented Valle De Uco Torrontes
Citrus peel and some flowery notes on the nose. Bright acidity that doesn't meld completely with the oak treatment. Should probably be cellared longer.

Aug 7th, 2016I guess I'm just used to the pure fruit aspect in traditional Torrontes ( no oak) this is very ripe and can handle the oak fermentation (3 months) medium toast French barrels. Probably barriques. Although the bright crisp rounded flavors of non oak is better.

Feb 16th, 2015I like it, but the reduction note is a tad overpowering.

May 11th, 2019Powerfully floral on an unexpectedly light, chalky, linear background. Pure and with deceptive power, this is wow for the $$ and so different...Riesling meets Chablis in a dry place.

Feb 4th, 2018Barrel ferment is obvious for this torrontes. Light notes of petrol on the nose but torrontes on the palate.

Sep 8th, 2017Interesting style of wine, decent body, but lacking acid. The barrel fermentation made me miss the crispness I was hoping for. Couldn't hold up to a spicy curry. But still fun to try.
