2000 vintage, Douro DOC. Alves de Sousa Reserva Pessoal. A special selection from some of the best grapes from Quinta da Gaivosa, vinified by Anselmo Mendes. Perfectly mature or maybe slightly past its prime at 22 years old. Smells a little tired at first, but gets better with air. Jammy black fruit balanced by tight acidity. Very good spicy/jammy length. Drink soon.
