The wine is drinkable but lost its luster and complexity and surely was no longer a $55 wine. The Rothschild family has owned the estate for five generations (since 1868). A blend of 60% Cab Sauv and 40% Merlot, deep Ruby with cloudiness showing black fruit and floral aromas. On the palate flavors of tart cherry and earthy notes, simple and pleasant but not enticing. Tannins were soft, finish was short, wine is past its prime. If you have one drink it yesterday!
