Domaine Valambelle
Faugères Millepeyers

Aging quite well!
The nose shows blackberry, licorice, a bit of menthol and some forest soil and game scents too. The palate is surprisingly round, with blackberry notes all along, a wide and long presence. A soft mouthfeel and completely integrated tannins before a blackberry and licorice finish that lasts for a long while. This is improving! There is still one bottle of this wine which was served during our wedding.

Funny story part 3. This is the wine my wife and I served to our guests during our wedding 7 years ago. I thought we had got rid of all the bottles but it turns out 3 remained for 7 years hidden in my wife's room at her parents'.
The nose shows some aging, including wet forest soil and mushrooms. There's a tiny bit of red fruits and a black pepper too. The palate is not bad though, there is still a massive acid backbone, a big bright red and black fruit all along, even to a sweet point, some tannins in the rear before rather long finish with fruit, that sweet touch and a bitter touch that seems to be due to aging. On the down slope but still enjoyable as is. And a good souvenir of a very good moment with family and friends.
