Domaine Tempier
Bandol Blanc White Blend

Pale lemon in color.
Strong nose and medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel.
Showing limes, grapefruits, gooseberries, earth and spices.
Long finish with limes and almonds.
This is a delicious Bandol white. Rich, tangy and fruit forward. Has a New world Sauvignon Blanc feel.
Expressive and spicy. Complex and nicely balanced. Really enjoyed the nose here.
Would be nice to revisit it in 3 years and see how it evolves.
A great sipping wine that will pair nicely with food too.
A blend of 60% Clairette, 30% Ugni Blanc with 10% Vermentino and Bourboulenc. Grapes are handpicked, and aged for 10 months in used oak barrels.
12.5% alcohol by volume .
92 points.
$50.

Leesy, slightly cheesy. Nice herbal character. Some fresh grass.

Some deep leesy qualities, a hint of earth, lily flower and petrol on the nose. On the palate it’s flint, honeycomb, yeasted cake, and a savory marmite-like quality. Firmly mineral on the palate, such a great structure. Will be interesting to try again in a few years. Great stuff!

Powerful wine. Aroma of saline sea, red apple and lemon. Some sweetness and flowers. Minor oxidative note. Tart apple with a long nutty finish. Don't drink too cold.

Love this better in its release year with brined turkey. But, still so good.

Domaine Tempier Rosé is one of Sofia’s and my favorite Rosé’s. They are a gold standard for Bandol Rosé and Rosé in general.
They are always so much better when you let them rest a year or two. Finally, opening our first 2017.
The nose shows; lots of orange citrus with a heart of tangerine, lean strawberries & watermelon near the rind, hints of fresh, ripe, rhubarb, orange blossoms, marmalade, notes of soft white cheese rind, white spice, chalk, alluvial minerals, spring flowers and pink roses.
The body is thick, round and just a touch gluey. It’s beautiful as it glides over the palate. Orange citrus with a heart of tangerine, lean strawberries & watermelon near the rind, hints of fresh, ripe, rhubarb, raspberries, pink grapefruit w/ a touch of sugar, orange blossoms, slightly baked marmalade, notes of soft white cheese rind, white spice with a touch of palate heat, amazing, soft, powdery chalkiness, dry twig or toothpick, alluvial minerals, spring flowers and pink roses. The acidity is round and perfect. The long finish is, rich, lush, polished, well balanced and harmonious on a warm summer day.
Photo’s of, the entrance sign to Domaine Tempier, the drive up to the Domaine and their barrel room where we tasted from barrel with their Assistant Winemaker.
